Phenomenal coffee with a bold tropical fruit character, complemented by cocoa aroma and a pleasant raspberry-like acidity.
Its chocolatey sweetness and creamy body make it truly unique, leaving a lasting impression on the palate of every coffee lover.
This microlot is of the Caturra variety, grown in the San Lucas Tolimán region. The ancient Maya referred to this remarkable land as “the place where misty clouds rise.”
The farm sits at the foot of Volcán Atitlán, which towers over Lake Atitlán, and is rich in volcanic soil. Nearly constant southern winds bring a moist cloud cover, providing natural shade for the coffee trees.
Founded and officially registered in the late 19th century, the farm holds over 150 years of coffee-growing tradition and has long been recognized for its high-quality production.
In 2012, the Herrera family acquired the farm and restored it after the devastating floods from Tropical Storm Agatha. By planting better Arabica varieties, they improved productivity, quality, and plant health. They also modernized the processing facility to enhance fermentation and drying.
With a legacy of excellence, the Herrera family is committed to preserving and refining this tradition, passing it down to future generations.
